This year’s event will be held on the same weekend as the
19th Annual Lewis & Clark Festival at the Interpretive Center
Pathways to Discovery!
WALKERS ARE WELCOME!
Marathon
The ½ Marathon this year will start at 6:15 a.m. south of Giant Springs State Park below the Interpretive Center. This is a fast course! The entries are limited to 250 people. A $45 entry fee includes a gym bag, finisher’s medal and a $20 donation to the River’s Edge Trail. The fee will be $50 after May 15.
10K
The 10k is our new distance this year. This will start at 6:00 a.m. south of Giant Springs State Park below the Interpretive Center. A $25 entry fee includes a runner’s hat and a $10 donation to the River’s Edge Trail. The fee will be $30 after May 15. This race is limited to 250 entrants.
Kid’s ½ Marathon
At 9:00 a.m., we will start the final leg of the Kid’s ½ Marathon. During the month of June, participants are responsible for completing 12 miles to be run in 1-mile increments. On packet pickup day, kids are to turn in a mileage log of those 12 miles prior to receiving their packet. On race day, they will toe-the-line to complete the 1.1 miles needed to complete the kid’s half marathon. Registration is $20 and will include a t-shirt, finisher’s medal and a donation to the River’s Edge Trail. This is not a timed event. The entry fee will increase to $25 after May 15. The 1.1-mile distance is limited to 100 entrants between the Kid’s ½ Marathon and the fun run. (This race is intended for kids ages 14 and under).
Fun Run
This will start at 9:00 for a total of 1.1 miles. This is not a timed event. For a registration fee of $15, participants will receive a t-shirt, a finisher’s medal and a donation to River’s Edge Trail. This event was originally intended for kids but anyone is invited to register and have fun. The fee will increase to $20 after May 15. The 1.1-mile distance is limited to 100 entrants between the Kid’s ½ Marathon and the fun run.
Please note that in all events the entry fee increases by $5 after May 15, which is to encourage early entries. The Assphault Kickers must order sufficient quantities of gym bags, hats, t‑shirts and finisher’s medals and it is beneficial to know approximately how many entrants as well as give the vendors sufficient time to process the order. The funds generated from the entry fee are used to purchase the merchandise. Thank you for your understanding!
Starting Times
The 10k will start at 6:00 a.m. to the south of Giant Springs State Park. Immediately afterwards, the ½ Marathon will start at 6:15 a.m. in the same location. At 9:00, the Kid’s ½ Marathon and Fun Run will start on the trail side of Heritage State Park just east of the Fish, Wildlife and Parks Headquarters Building.
