2nd Annual Hope for Haiti 5K • Helena, Carroll College. The Hope for Haiti 5K is a huge fundraiser for the newly founded Carroll College Outreach Team—COT. COT brings together students, faculty, alumni, and friends of Carroll College to provide direct service and aid to people in need, at home and around the world. Students work directly with professionals in health care, engineering, and education, to provide direct assistance and monetary aid to organizations in developing countries and areas of need in Helena. Proceeds will go toward funding Dental/Medical Team equipment and expenditures for annual Outreach Trips to Haiti and other third world countries as well as areas in need within the Helena community. Sweathouse Half Marathon Victor, The course begins and ends in the Victor Park and follows a loop dirt and blacktop back road course. Overall and age-group prizes, finisher medals, and drawing prizes with a local flavor. Come see a beautiful part of Montana! We welcome participants who run, jog, walk, skip, jump, or hop. Race begins at 8:00 a.m. Fee is $40 or $35 for Run Wild Missoula members. Registration includes a shirt, finisher's medal, and potential prizes. Registration is open through the morning of the race but late registration does not guarantee a shirt or finisher's medal immediately following the race. Pete’s Fall Fest Kalispell, 5k, 10k, 1 mi, and fun kids’ carnival.  Peterson Elementary School, 1119 2nd St W, Kalispell.  All proceeds benefit Peterson elementary students.  Race entry is $12 per person or $40 for a family of four plus $6 per additional family member.  The entry fee includes a meal and student-designed t-shirt.  The 5k and 10k will be chip-timed, and we ask (but do not require) that you include $2 per entrant to help cover the cost of this service.  The 5k and 10k are scenic, mostly downhill  / level courses that follow a portion of Rails-to-Trails and end at Peterson School.  The 1 mile begins and ends at Peterson School.  The bus for the 10k leaves Peterson School at 9:00 am, and the race begins at Foys Lake Park at 10:00 am.  The bus for the 5k leaves at 9:30 am, and the race begins at 10:30 am.  The 1 mile begins at 11:30 am.  Lots of age groups and awards.  Prizes for all elementary-aged race participants and for the overall male and female winners of each race.  Elementary-aged kids will enjoy the carnival, which runs from 10:30 to 1:30.   Contact Laurie at dudleystrees@centurytel.net for more information and an entry form.

GLENDIVE BADLANDER 10K, 5K, KIDS FUN RUN Glendive, Eyer Park, Eastern Montana's friendly people and unique scenery await you. Traveling along trail and neighborhood streets, this race allows for spectacular views of the badlands, Yellowstone River, and historic neighborhoods of Glendive, MT. 21st Annual Chokecherry Run •. Lewistown,  Races include 10K, 5K run. 5K walk, and l mile fun run. 10K and 5K races start at 9:00 a.m. One mile start is 10:00. Registration fee: $5 by Sept 10th or $10 the day of the race. $10 for a T-shirt is optional. The 10K is overall downhill, follows beautiful Spring Creek from 6 miles out of town. The scenic 5K loop, has some hills. 10 different age categories. 6TH ANNUAL HAMMER NUTRITION TWO BEAR MARATHON & HALF MARATHON, FULL MARATHON • Whitefish,   7:30AM START, HALF MARATHON  9:30AM START, FULL  MARATHON EARLY REGISTRATION  $80  LATE  $105, HALF MARATHON EARLY REGISTRATION  $70  LATE  $95. This is a Point-to-Point course. The first 15 miles take you through the Stillwater State Forest on dirt roads and trails, passing Beaver Lake, Murray Lake, Woods Lake and Thornberg Lake. The remainder of the course is paved. Miles 15 through 24 follow the north and east shores of Whitefish Lake to City Beach. runmt.com featured race --- Night Owl Run • Livingston.   Livingston's only evening run/walk by the light of the full moon.  A 4.5 mile course on paved and gravel roads and some trail. This is a fun run/walk that will begin and end at the Washington School, with a festive party afterwards. Race starts at 7:00 p.m.  This year the funds will be donated to the Livingston LINKS for Learning program and the Livingston Schools Backpack Program. For your registration fee of $20 you will receive entry, a t-shirt, a keepsake pint glass, a token for a free beer, post-race food and fun, and some glow in the dark bling. Race day registration will be $25. Packet pick up will be at the Washington School from 4-7 pm the day of the race. 1st Annual A Run through History • Kalispell, The Kalispell Downtown Association and the Business Improvement District are pleased to bring you "A RUN THROUGH HISTORY" . This 5K run and festival will be held at 11:30 AM beginning at the Museum at Central School, traveling through Woodland Park, passing the Conrad Mansion and some of the magnificent historic east side homes. The race will conclude at the Hockaday Museum of Art followed by a festival with a beer garden, food vendors and the music of Andre Floyd and Mood Iguana from Noon until 3:00 PM. 35th Mount Helena Classic 5.6 Mile Run • Helena, presented by the Helena Vigilante Runners.  10:00 am start, race day registration/packet pick up beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Base Camp, 5 W. Broadway. This 5.6 mile course starts on historic Last Chance Gulch in downtown Helena. It quickly changes from urban running to mountain trail running in Mt. Helena City Park.  The course takes runners to the top of Mt. Helena, 1,300 feet above the starting line, and offers outstanding views of the City of Helena, Prickly Pear Valley, and Elkhorn and Belt Mountains. 9th Drop and Trot Bozeman, 10k and 5k race through south Bozeman. 5k runners can drop and do pushups for a minute before the run. Every pushup is 10 seconds deducted from the run time.  This mix of endurance and strength is a favorite among Bozeman athletes. Dogs welcome at both races. Please dress up in purple to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. Best purple costume will win a prize! Canine Classic Missoula The 2nd annual Canine Classic is a charity foot/paw race for you and your best four-legged canine companion.  Choose from a ½ marathon or 10k timed race, or choose a 5 mile or 2 mile hike (untimed).  The event takes place on the trails surrounding The Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Montana and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the care of homeless animals at the Humane Society of Western Montana.  Race/hike start times vary depending on your chosen route.  Participants can pay a flat fee of $50 to participate or collect pledges for a chance to win a prize including a night’s stay with dinner for 2 at the Resort at Paws Up.  Entrance fee includes bandana for your dog, event water bottle, goody bag, and gourmet BBQ lunch with beverages. Stillwater River Run and Fun Walk • Absarokee  Registration fee is $15 and comes with a shirt.  Race day registration is $20.  Race fee only is $10, no shirt. Proceeds go to various projects of the Absarokee Civic Club.  Pre-regististration is requests to be received by September 27.  There will be post race refreshments and an award ceremony.  The race course is a very scenic run along the Stillwater River which is beautiful in the fall.  It is mostly flat. Wolf Creek Canyon Relay • The Wolf Creek Canyon Relay is a scenic 28.02 mile relay for up to 4 runners. The relay starts 6 miles south of Wolf Creek, at 0900 . Homestake Pass 5 Miler Trail Run This is the fourth annual trail run on Homestake Lodge’s trail system. The course will be on the x-c ski trails and will wind through woods, meadows and include some steep ascents/descents. There will also be a 1 Mile Kids Race (12 and Under). Juniors start at 10 AM and Adults start at 10:30 Cash Awards will be given to 1st-2nd-3rd Place in the overall Women's and Men's Category. 1st Place $125.-, 2nd Place $75.-, 3rd place $50.- After the race there will be a Barbecue. (SHATS) Race #3 - Goat Pursuit Helena, 9 AM, Mt. Helena Ridge Run, 6.6 miles point to point time-trial format. The trolley shuttle will leave the Helena Public Library at 8 am to carry runners to the top. The course starts with switchbacks up to the Helena Ridge, the rest of the course is primarily downhill on moderately technical singletrack, finishing at Dump Gulch Trailhead. This race is run as a time trial format - a runner will start every 30 seoconds, starting with the slowest runner. If this is your first race in the series, please send a recent 10k or 12k time. Third Annual HARVEST CLASSIC 5K Run/Walk • Great Falls – 5K. 9:30 a.m. race start - Starts and finishes in beautiful Paris Gibson Park in downtown Great Falls featuring the colorful autumn trees throughout the park. The race is flat, fast, and crosses the Missouri River twice. $20 pre-registration fee includes a Harvest Classic 5K t-shirt if received by Tuesday October 12th, 2010. Runners must pay an additional $8 if they want a t-shirt after the October 12th deadline. Day of Race Registration and Race-Number pick up is 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on Saturday October 16th. 5th Raw Deal Run and Fun Walk Sweet Grass, 5K, 10K, Chili Feed and Halloween Costume Contest, 10:30 am start.  Location and Description: Starts (South of Big Timber) at the Raw Deal Ranch , approximately one mile south of McLeod, MT and winds through the breathtaking scenery of the Raw Deal Ranch and Michael Keaton’s Ranch, continues through the quaint town of McLeod before returning to savor the awe-inspiring views of the Boulder River Valley.  Run terrain is a mixture of flat ground as well as gentle sloping hills of asphalt and dirt roads.  Montana Cup Cross Country Meet  Billings, Women's race at noon, men's race to follow. Race distance 5 to 8K (exact course revealed race-day). The Montana Cup cross-country meet offers an exploration of Montana's magnificent open spaces. it is not a road race, nor is it an ultra-endurance trail run; it's a team event, which brings together runners from all of Montana's cities for competition, racing across country, for the glory of claiming a "traveling trophy" - the Montana Cup. Turkey Day 8K • Missoula, flat 8K is an out and back along the Kim Williams Trail, starting and finishing, at the Boone and Crockett Club on Thanksgiving morning. The race is open to anyone wanting to get some fresh air and exercise before feasting on a Thanksgiving meal! It's a great run/walk to do as a family on the holiday.
