Countdown to the Trails Fun Run/Walk • Malta, Malta Trails Fun Run is a fundraiser for Malta Trails Inc, a 501 (c)(3) organization, dedicated to encouraging healthier lifestyles through the development of trails in and around the Malta area.  Walk or run 1 to 5 miles. Don't leave the kids at home either; all runs/walks are stroller friendly. 3rd Annual East Helena Fun Run • JFK Park, East Helena. Sponsored by the East Helena Quality Education Foundation. Registration Opens at 8:30 AM at JFK Park near the pool. Kids Run start time is 9:30 a.m. 5 and 10 K Races both start at 10:00 a.m. Running Events and Fees: Children's Fun Run.......... Free (At JFK Park), 5 K Run or Walk....$10.00 , 10 K Run ...$10.00. *Families with 4 or more individuals participating in the events may pay a fee of $40.00. Torch Scholarship Run • Polson, supporting a two year scholarship for a Polson High School grad. Half-marathon and 5K scenic loop courses on paved roads and trails. All pre-registered participants receive a long sleeve t-shirt designed by a high school student. Age division awards will be given. Half-marathon starts at 8 am, $40. 5K starts at 9 am $15. TNT Hiawatha Trail Run • Taft, (I-90 Montana/Idaho state line) The TNT (Tunnels N Trestles) Trail Run will be held on the Hiawatha trail located adjacent to I-90 at the Idaho/Montana state line. The course will run thought 10 tunnels and over 7 trestles with a distance of 28.2 miles. The path is made up of crushed granite also known as decomposed granite. The trail is fairly flat side to side and about 8 feet in width, a descent of 967 feet down to the turn around and 1000 feet of climbing back to the top for the finish. Participants will receive race support at aid stations throughout the course. The finishers will receive medals, shirts, and lunch will be available. 7:00 AM start, $85 Trail Run or $120 Team Run. 25th Annual Montana Senior Olympic Games • Kalispell, for men and women who are 50 years and older to be held in Kalispell on June 10-12. There will be 5 & 10K road races, track and field events plus 11 other sports. Gold, silver and bronze medals to winners in 5 year age brackets. These games will serve as the "qualifier" for the National Senior Games to be held in Houston, Texas in 2011. Most of our medal winners will be eligible to compete there. 37th Annual Governor’s Cup • Historic Downtown Helena, 10k, 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run
The Governor’s Cup is the major fundraiser for the Caring Foundation of Montana, a 501 (c)(3) organization, exclusively dedicated to providing Montana kids with access to medical and dental benefits. All funds raised will be contributed to the Healthy Montana Kids dental program and matched four-to-one by a grant from the U S Dept. of Health & Human Services Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Packet Pickup and Wellness Fair at Helena Civic Center is on Friday, June 11. On Sunday, June 13, Family Bike Event sponsored by the Helena YMCA. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana, Registration opens February 15.

7th Annual Pengelly Double Dip • Missoula, A trail run; a tall half marathon and a small 10K. Wulfman's Continental Divide Trail 14K • Butte, A Point to Point, Single-Track Race on the beautiful section of National Scenic Continental Divide Trail between Homestake Pass and Pipestone Pass. Butte's Piss & Moan Runners are a joyous group who treat this race as the club's premier event of the year. Hard core trail runners do not rate this trail as "technical," and in the immortal words of the club's late and beloved Wulfman "there is just one hill." Route is run north to south in even numbered years. Bussing provided from finish back to start area. Race entry also buys you access to post-race BBQ at the Homestake Lodge. Carnivorous and vegetarian fare available with beverages including microbrewed beer. Awards ceremony also included with unique top 5 overall and age-group prizes. $200.00 prize purse and prize for closest finish time prediction. Complimentary "Run with the Wulf" race socks to the first 50 registrants. Jim Bridger Trail Run • 10 mile trail run with 2000 feet vertical elevation change. Start & finish at Sypes Canyon Trail Head.Post-race food included with entry. Early entry fee is $30 or $40 race day (registration closes at 9:30 am race morning). Race official start time is 10 am.  (If you anticipate a 3 hour or longer race finish, your group will start at 9 am.)  NEW THIS YEAR!!  5K Canyon Run with youth categories!  Out and back course from Sypes Canyon, start time of 10:05 am.  Entry fee $10, no t-shirt, with shirts available to purchase at finish. 2nd Annual Montana Made Run • Missoula, Come out to McCormick Park in the heart of Missoula and start your Saturday right by participating. The race supports and features Montana Made Business and Products, with all proceeds raised go to the International Association of Firefighters Burn Foundation. Your choice: a 5K or 10K distance. Don't leave the kids at home either as the kids run is around McCormick Park before the adults run. Both the 5K and 10K are stroller and dog friendly, we just ask that the strollers and dogs line up at the rear of the pack and the dogs are on leashes. Both races will start and finish at McCormick Park adjacent to Currents. This run is open to all, racers and walkers. Awards will be given in both distances and sexes to the top three overall and top three in each age group. A total of 72 awards! With your entry fee you also receive a short sleeve dry fit-style shirt and a Nalgene-style water bottle. The post race BBQ features Montana Kobe Beef Burgers and Hot Mama's Salsa for participants, followed by drawings for great Montana Made Products.  Fee is $25 pre-registration and race day registration, which includes technical t-shirt, Nalgene, and Gel.  Kids race is free.  Participants must pre-register by June 1 to receive t-shirt on race day. Those who pre-register after June 1 or use race day registration can pick up shirts at the Runners Edge in Missoula after July 5. Yellowstone 5K Run/Walk • Gardiner, The Gardiner Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 3rd Annual Yellowstone 5K Fun Run/Walk. Enjoy the beautiful mountains, Roosevelt Arch and Yellowstone Park ! Registration will begin at 8:30 in Arch Park with the race beginning at 9:30. Fees are as follows: Early registration before June 15 is $ 15 with that age 16 and under $ 10.00. Race For This Place • White Sulphur Springs, The White Sulphur Springs Community Fund is kicking off the 4th annual Race For This Place fun run/walk. This race is about community support and fun, so runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome. This years race will benefit the Stevens Youth Center, a free afterschool program for Meagher county youth that includes gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, and games. The race will start at 7:30 AM with a 15k, 5K and 1M Run/Walk. The 5k and the 1 mile run/walk are an out and back course over the North fork of the Smith River and along highway 360. The 15k will be run on mostly dirt roads west of town. It is a scenic run through surrounding ranchland with spectacular views of the Big Belt and Castle Mountains. Participants and volunteers will receive a T-shirt, certificate, and goodies. Continental breakfast, award ceremony, and door prizes will be immediately following the race. Racers are encouraged to ride on the Race Float in the local parade being held at 11:00 AM. Register for only $15.00 until June 20th, and $20.00 until race day. Make It Hurt On the Dirt • Homestake Lodge. Off-road Duathlon, The Hurt On the Dirt Off-Road Duathlon is back for 2010 with a format change to run, bike, run. Racers may either compete as individuals or in teams. There is an individual and relay category and a 12 and under junior category. After the event there will be a barbecue, beverages, and music. Adult distances are 5km run, 8km bike, 5 km run. The under 12 Junior Course is 1km run and 2km bike. Terrain is a combination of logging roads, trails, and single track suitable for most riders and runners. Adult Individual - $30.00, Two Person Relay Team $45, Three Person Relay $60, Youth - $10, additional barbecue ticket $8 (1 bbq ticket included with race entry). Glacier Challenge Whitefish, The Glacier Challenge is a multi-sport relay consisting of 6 legs: 11k run, canoe, kayak, road bike, mountain bike, and 5k run. Participants enter as solo, partner, or team racers and we invite both competitive and recreational teams. This year, we anticipate several hundred racers competing in this fun challenge.
