The first annual Queen City Triathlon is a sprint distance race oriented towards beginner triathletes. 18 lap swim in a 25 yard pool, 12.4 mile bike through the Helena Valley, and a 3.1 mile run on a dirt trail. Race location is the Helena YMCA on N. Last Chance Gulch. Sign up on Active.com, registration is only open to the first 64 participants. Hosted by the Big Sky Cyclery Team and Helena YMCA. The 10K will have moderate grades on the Westside of Hamilton and all runs will be on pavement. Registration is $15 for adult 10K and 5K or $20 after May 31st. 1 Mile Fun Run participants, seniors, and students are all $10. Race times are 10K-8:30 am, 5K-9:30 am, and 1 mi-11:00 am. Registration includes t-shirt, goodie bag, chance for additional prizes, and sign ups for a massage after the race. Awards will be given to 1st-3rd men’s and women’s 10K and 5K. This Triathlon consists of ½ mile swim around Foys Lake, followed by a 12.7 mile bicycle ride on beautiful rolling hills surrounding Foys Lake, followed by a 3.1 Mile run on the streets surrounding Foys Lake. Triathlon registration deadline is June 3rd. Computer chip timing will be offered allowing for accurate times, accurate split times and results after you finish the race. Awards for the top three division winners will be presented after the last participant crosses the finish line. Food will be provided. Raffle prizes will be given out after race is completed. The Whitefish Lake Run • Whitefish, 5 km, 10km. 31st Annual, Races start at 8 AM, 10K runners are bused to the start at 6:45 to run the one way route along Lake Shore Drive back to City Beach. Course: The 5K course starts at City Beach and loops around a fairly fast route back to the beach. This is a fundraiser for Reach, Inc., a non profit organization serving people with developmental disabilities in the Gallatin Valley since 1974. Terrain is a combination of logging roads, trails, and single track suitable for most riders and runners.
