Peak Triathlon Clinic • Great Falls, Three speakers coming to discuss all aspects of triathlon training- for all levels of triathletes. Clinic is on Saturday with two hour sessions with each speaker. There is video tape analysis of swim technique, training and racing pointers, nutritional advice, beginner- ironman. An ideal venue for adventure racing, the University of Montana and Pattee Canyon Recreation Area will provide an exciting and challenging sprint adventure race. The East Helena Fun Run • East Helena, 5 km, 10km. 2nd Annual, Races start at 10 AM, 10K runners will start concurrently with the 5K runners. The 10 K course will be 2 laps of the 5K course. The course starts at Kennedy Park and travels around a mostly gravel path to the north of East Helena and loops through city property along a gravel road and returns south to Kennedy Park via a gravel road and pathway. Fees: Adults $15, Youth 8 and under $10, Families of 4 – 6 $50. Awards: All participants that register before May 15 receive a race day tee shirt at sign in. Overall first place winners will receive ribbons and race results will be published in the local paper. There is a special Kids Fun Run at 9:30 am for children 8 and under with all participants receiving a ribbon. This race is a fund raiser in conjunction with a carnival immediately following the race. The PEAK's 5K for the Relay • Missoula, Peak Health and Wellness Center to raise money for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life .  Part of the event is cycling related and the other part is a 5K fun run.  The run will start at 9:30 A.M. with registration starting at 8:00 am.  There will be no preregistration.  The entry fee will be $10.00 with all the proceeds going towards the Relay for Life.  Walkers are welcome and even encouraged to participate.  The race will be timed and the top 3 male/female finishers will receive medals.  Also each participant will receive a raffle ticket for a raffle to follow.  The course starts at the Peak and goes from there to Blue Mountain recreation area, an out an back on Blue Mountain Road.   The course will be well marked and easy to follow.  andydrobeck21@yahoo.com

Make It Hurt On the Dirt • Butte, Off-road Duathlon, Homestake Lodge. The Hurt On the Dirt Duathlon is back for 2008 and is being hosted by Homestake Lodge on Homestake Pass near Butte, MT. Swan Crest 57 • Swan Lake, 57K Trail Run, starting promptly at 7:00 am. This run is self-supported and unmarked! There are NO AID STATIONS and NO COURSE MARKINGS! The run starts at Napa Point (elev. 6500ft) on the crest of the Swan Mountain Range at the southern end of the Alpine Trail #7. The course covers 51k of the southern half of the Alpine Trail with an ascent of Six Mile Mountain before you descend to the town of Swan Lake. The run consists of 51k of single track, 5k of FS dirt road and 1k of pavement into town, finishing at the SLCC. You’ll climb 8000’ and descend 11,000’ during your run. There are numerous water sources along the course, no farther than 10 miles apart. As you are running north you will be treated with views of Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness to the East, and the Mission Mountains and Flathead Lake to the West. Cost: $50.00. Adventure Bio-thon Run/Walk/Hike • Stevensville, MT 8:00 am. Choose between a short course (2-3 miles) or along course (3-5 miles). Located in the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge. Bio-thon starts and finishes at Refuge Visitors Center on Wildfowl Lane. This is a low key family friendly event that takes teams of 2-5 into the back country of the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge. The race tests both your physical abilities and your general knowledge of nature. Registration fee $10 for individuals or $30 for teams of 2-5. Day of registration begins at 7:30am.
